In the joy of the Feast of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke, the first iconographer and the patron saint of all iconographers, we are pleased to announce a new project on the missionary portal Kinonia. Starting from 1st November 2024., the project titled “Lessons in Iconography” will commence.
Visitors to the portal will have the opportunity to follow short lessons on the basics of iconography on the first Friday of every month. The aim of this project is to clearly and unequivocally introduce the visitors of the Kinonia portal to the theology and teaching of the icon, as well as to familiarize them with the process of creating an icon, often referred to as a “window of eternity.”
This project is entrusted to Kinonia’s regular contributor, Hajji Tijana Stamenković, an iconographer and author of the book “The Holy Land and the City of the Almighty King – Jerusalem.” The first article in this series will be published on Friday, 1st November 2024.
