On the day of the Beginning of the Indiction – the Church New Year, September 14, 2026, a gathering will be held marking the second anniversary of the „Kinonia“ portal. It will be magnified by the sweet chanting of the Savić sisters from the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla.
The Savić sisters come from a ten-member family of protopresbyter Željan and his wife Milica Savić. They have cultivated a love for spiritual and ethnic music since early childhood. The sisters have directed this love towards Byzantine chanting. Both have successfully completed the first year of the school of old Serbian chanting St. Jovan Kukuzelj, which operates in the Diocese of Zvornik-Tuzla with the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan of Zvornik-Tuzla, Mr. Fotije.
Marija, the oldest of the sisters, was born on August 5, 2008 in Berane (Montenegro). She is a final year student at a tourism school, and she wants to continue her education by enrolling at the Orthodox Theological Faculty. Irina Savić, the third of the children, was born on March 19, 2011 in Berane (Montenegro). This year she enrolled in the customs school. Atanasija Savić, the fourth child, was born on October 24, 2013 in Berane (Montenegro) and is a seventh grade elementary school student.
All of the Savić sisters have nurtured a love for church singing since early childhood, which they learned at home. Their joint chanting is the result of family upbringing, love for the Church, and dedication to preserving and teaching the tradition of Orthodox church singing.
In addition to Marija, Irina, and Atanasije, the Savić family consists of four other sisters and a brother.
