The programme „Pod lupom“ (Under the Magnifying Glass)—broadcast on Radio-Beseda (of the Eparchy of Bačka) on Saturday, September 12, 2026—featured a discussion on the second anniversary of the „Kinonia“ portal’s missionary work, as well as a panel discussion titled „Kinonia – A Call to Community.“ The programme’s creator and host was Jovana Lazić, a journalist at Radio-Beseda.
„It has already been two years since the ‘Kinonia’ portal began its major mission; like last year, the anniversary will be marked by a panel discussion featuring carefully selected guests. This year, we invited the Savić sisters—daughters of Protopresbyer Željan Savić—to highlight the importance of the mission carried out by this ten-member priestly family. Quality, combined with respect for the order of our Holy Church, is paramount to the work of the ‘Kinonia’ missionary portal,“ noted Catechist Branislav Ilić. He went on to speak about the collaboration of Radio-Beseda media professionals, who make a notable contribution to the missionary efforts of the „Kinonia“ portal.
Responding to the need for concrete missionary activity via information technology, on the Feast of the Beginning of the Indiction (the Church New Year) and the day commemorating the Venerable Simeon the Stylite (September 1/14) 2024, the *Kinonia* portal launched at the online address: https://kinonija.rs. Kinonia is the first missionary project of the Missionary Department of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovci, operating with the blessing of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije. The project’s initiator and the editor of the Kinonia missionary portal is Branislav Ilić, a catechist from Novi Sad and a permanent expert associate of the Parish Mission Section within the Archbishopric’s Missionary Department. The name Kinonia reflects the portal’s primary goal: missionary outreach and guiding people towards communion with the Lord, with all the saints, and with one another in the Holy Liturgy (Eucharist). Regular contributors—including authors of articles and other content—include hierarchs, priests, catechists, and theologians, as well as scholars from fields such as philosophy, history, culture, music, and the visual arts. Through both the written and spoken word, the Kinonia missionary portal carries out its mission, grounded in the proclamation of the Gospel and the unadulterated teaching of the Church; its aim is to direct all things—through its mission and activities—towards a life of grace within the Church of Christ, and ultimately towards the Mystery of mysteries: the Holy Liturgy.
