The name of the missionary portal, „Kinonia“ (from the Greek Koinonia/Communion), reflects its purpose: missionary outreach and guiding people towards communion with the Lord, with all the saints, and with one another within the Holy Eucharist. The portal’s logo depicts a dome topped with a cross, conveying that our missionary work directs readers towards the Church community—a communion possible only beneath the sacred vaults of the temple (the dome).

The portal was conceived and is edited by catechist Branislav Ilić, a permanent expert associate of the Parish Mission Section within the Missionary Department of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovci.

Regular contributors and authors of articles and other content include hierarchs, priests, catechists, and theologians, as well as scholars and professionals from the fields of philosophy, history, culture, music, the visual arts, and more. The „Kinonia“ missionary portal carries out its missionary work through both the written and spoken word; the foundation of this task is to proclaim the Gospel and the unadulterated teaching of the Church, with the aim of directing all things—through its mission and activities—towards a grace-filled life in the Church of Christ, and specifically towards the Mystery of mysteries: the Holy Liturgy.

The „Kinonia“ portal successfully fulfills its mission by drawing people into communion with our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). We place our hope in the Lord—the Guide and Inspirer of this mission—that this blessed endeavour will long stand as a testament to the truth of the words of the divinely wise Apostle Paul, who powerfully teaches that „faith comes by hearing“ (Romans 10:17).
