As a guest on the programme Under the Magnifying Glass, which was broadcast on Radio-Beseda, of the Diocese of Bačka on Saturday, 3 May 2025, catechist Branislav Ilić, editor of the missionary portal Kinonia of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci, spoke about a professional analysis of the parish websites of the Archdiocese, carried out by Mr Nenad Badovinac, coordinator of the Section for Electronic Mission of the same Missionary Department.
Catechist Branislav Ilić informed the listeners of Radio-Beseda about the significance of this professional analysis and emphasised that it represents only the beginning of an effort to improve the online presence of parish churches within the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci.
“Since the establishment of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci, I have been actively involved in the work of the Section for Electronic Mission, as a permanent expert associate and as editor of the missionary portal Kinonia—which itself is an integral part of the Section for Electronic Mission and was one of its first major projects in the field of official digital missionary work—I can freely say that the importance of this comprehensive study, which offers a detailed analysis of parish websites, will only become more evident with time. This is an important step that will help ensure that our online mission is properly directed,” said catechist Branislav Ilić.
According to the guest of Radio-Beseda, Mr Nenad Badovinac brings decades of experience in this field, as does the Head of the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci, Presbyter Dr Oliver Subotić, who closely and pastorally oversees the work of this and other sections within the Missionary Depa.rtment. Catechist Branislav recalled that the coordinator of the Section for Electronic Mission was shaped under the spiritual guidance of the late Archimandrite Gavrilo (Vučković), abbot of the Lepavina Monastery in the Metropolitanate of Zagreb–Ljubljana, and he emphasised that Fr Gavrilo was among the first in our region to begin proclaiming the Word of God through digital media at a remarkably high missionary level for his time.

Towards the end of the interview, catechist Branislav Ilić shared personal reflections on the importance of missionary work through information technologies. Among other things, he said: “On one occasion, I spoke with Fr Oliver Subotić, and we agreed that every church website header ought to feature a key quotation from Holy Scripture—one that best exemplifies the purpose and mission of the respective site. In the same spirit, we agreed that the Gospel invitation ‘Come and see!’ (John 1:46) should appear in the header of every site. I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to speak on your programme Under the Magnifying Glass about this recent development within the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade–Karlovci. To the head of the department, all coordinators, and fellow collaborators, I wish much success in their continued work—reminding both them and myself (since I am one of them) of the words of the God-inspired Apostle Paul: I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth (1 Cor. 3:6). May the Lord grant that the work of the Missionary Department bear abundant fruit.”
