We have entered the great and holy days of Passion Week, which through their liturgical order and themes remind us of the ineffable Mystery of the Lord’s condescension. “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him,” says the Evangelist. The very mouths that had joyfully cried “Hosanna” only a few days earlier, now filled with hatred, shouted “Crucify Him!” The King of Glory is betrayed, tortured, and ultimately crucified. The Giver of Life dies upon the Cross. The Lord humbles Himself, descending even to the Hades itself, the place of utter darkness, from where the light of Christ’s Resurrection will shine forth upon the entire world.
The “Kinonia” portal, operating under the Missionary Department of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci, will thematically follow the commemorations of each day during Passion Week, beginning with Holy Monday. Visitors to the portal will be able to draw inspiration, learn, and delve into the mystery of the great and holy days through the content offered – both in written and spoken form. Following the truth that participation in the liturgical life is an essential aspect of Christian living, special attention will be devoted to the unique characteristics of the Passion Week services. Additionally, daily patristic commentaries on all Scripture readings proclaimed during the services will be made available.
