The guest of the new edition of the programme „Temple“, which was broadcast on Radio Belgrade 2 on Sunday, August 2, 2026, was catechist Branislav Ilić, editor of the missionary portal „Kinonia“ and a permanent expert associate of the Section for Electronic Mission of the Missionary Department of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovci. In the said programme, catechist Branislav spoke on the topic: „The Relationship Between the Liturgy and the Celebration of the Patronal Feast. The programme author and host was Dušanka Zeković.
In the first part of the conversation, catechist Branislav explained who the saints are, what categories of saints exist, and why saintly epithets are important. In addition, he spoke about the process of the inclusion in the diptych of saints, but also about how the presence of saints in the liturgical life of the Church is perceived.
In the spirit of the festive commemoration of the holy and glorious prophet Elijah, Dušanka Zeković’s guest emphasized that he was a seer of God, a miracle worker and a zealot of the faith. This Old Testament righteous man lived in the ninth century before the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, and as a true witness of God, he appeared with Moses on Mount Tabor during the Transfiguration of our Lord before his disciples.

The guest of the renowned programme of Radio Belgrade spoke about the patronal feast and the different aspects of its celebration. In addition to stating what is needed for the feast itself, catechist Branislav Ilić spoke in great detail about the symbolism of festal offerings and their connection with the liturgical ones.
The programme was supplemented with explanations by the Novi Sad catechist, who clarified the relationship between the Holy Liturgy and the celebration of the patronal feast, as well as whether it is possible to properly understand the latter outside of the liturgical context. Listeners of Radio Belgrade had the opportunity to hear the explanation of the prayer for the consecration of the wheat, the text of which in many ways points to the essence of the patronal feast, which always represents a continuation of the liturgical celebration, and can never exist in isolation.
In the final part of the conversation, catechist Branislav Ilić thanked the editor of the programme „Temple“ for her hospitality. He instructed the listeners of Radio Belgrade regarding the celebration of the patronal feast, reminding them that the Holy Liturgy itself contains the meaning of the entire sacramental life of grace, including the celebration of the patronal feast.
